Hello!
My name is Vinícius Oliveira.
I am a filmmaker, actor, and photographer. My journey is a blend of theater, visual arts, and cinema, exploring how body, performance, and narrative connect and influence each other. My work includes directing, cinematography, acting, screenwriting, production, filming, and editing — all intertwined to tell stories that move me.
On this website, you’ll find a glimpse of my perspective and the stories that drive me. I hope they move you too! :)
ABOUT ME
My artistic journey began in theatre and photography. I am a Brazilian artist, trained as an actor at the School of Dramatic Arts of the University of São Paulo — EAD/ECA-USP. Previously, I studied for a brief period in the Department of Philosophy at UFMG. I deepened my studies in screenwriting and cinema at the Academia Internacional de Cinema — AIC, and I am currently continuing my education in the Bachelor of Film program at JMC Academy in Sydney, Australia.
Since childhood, I have developed a curious and intuitive relationship with cameras. I liked exploring unusual angles, playing with different perspectives, and creating images that were funny, strange, or unexpected. When I had access to my first camera, I began experimenting more consistently — playing, making many mistakes, and learning through the process.
It was during this period that I began to understand image-making as a living field of choices. This perception made me realize that the human gaze — and also my own gaze — is only one among many possible ways of seeing. What fascinates me most is precisely this possibility: not only to show my point of view, but to continuously transform it and, through that, expand the way I perceive and inhabit the world.
Over time, my research expanded into audiovisual work. From my perspective as an actor, I began to investigate how body, movement, and emotion can connect within an imagetic narrative — but also how they can create tension and displacement.
In 2020, I began dedicating myself more intensely to audiovisual work, and the following year, I co-founded the production company MALĪ. During this period, I worked as a freelancer on several projects, including social media content, music videos, documentaries, short films, and feature films. I also joined the audiovisual department of São Paulo Dance Company, collaborating in the production of photographs and audiovisual materials.
I see audiovisual work as a territory of discovery and exchange, where image and narrative intertwine to create new ways of feeling and listening to the world. In cinema, I find a space to explore the intimate and the collective. Each work becomes a possibility of reinvention — an attempt to inscribe not only what is seen, but also what vibrates behind the visible.

viniô is a brand I created in 2022 to sign the visual works I have been developing since 2015, reflecting the artistic journey I have been following. Its name, an abbreviation of my own, carries the weight of my constant quest to portray the world, both visible and invisible.
Each project signed by viniô is an expansion of my perspective — an invitation to experience, not just to capture, but to transform the ephemeral into something tangible.
For me, photography and image are not mere records; they are living processes, gestures that speak in silence and at the same time are powerful. It is not about repeating formulas or creating on a large scale, but about exploring the singularities, details, and nuances that make each image a discovery.
Each work developed under viniô is a suspended moment, where the gaze of the other meets mine, provoking a deep and silent displacement. It is in this encounter that the image becomes a means to provoke new perceptions, an attempt to reinvent what we see and feel.
“Photography is putting on the same line the head, the eye, and the heart.”
